designing baby

My sister Jess has a knack for having babies at the most opportune time for adorable costumes around Halloween.

A couple of Halloweens ago, my nephew, Jacob, was only a month old and we tried very hard to convince Jess to go as a dirty martini and dress Jacob up as an olive. Genius!

I am not sure what little Eli (2 months) will go as this year, but you can bet I'm rooting for any of these hot numbers.

I would love to meet his parents.

tunnel vision

This morning on the dreaded L train, the man in my face had dragon's breath and I watched a woman blow her nose into the scarf tied around her neck. Why, lady.

Instead of the tunnel I was trapped in under the city, I wish I was in any one of these.

phang nga bay, thailand

golden tunnel of light, Japan

le fromage

This weekend instead of drinking Bloody's outside all day, I opted for a tour into the cheese caves of the infamous Murray's Cheese Shop. It's called becoming cultured.

The class was $15 and totally worth it. First, I was greeted with a glass of proseco and 6 'spensive cheeses to eat. Money back.

Then, I traveled underneath the shop to the aging caves to observe where the cheeses moldy exterior or wash rinds finished processing.

My favorite was the wash-rind cheese cave. The cheeses give off a very distinct ammonia smell. It stank as if MK had given me dutch oven of his feet after running a half-marathon.

If you live in the area, I highly, highly recommend signing up and checking it out for yo' self!

comes with one side. you want greenbeans or slaw?

camp city!

Do I have to go into work on Monday? NO.

Am I going to take this opportunity to go camping? YES.

Did I have to google Columbus Day as to why he's still in the holiday mix? YOU BETCHA (it's because he exploited and enslaved his way to the top)

A little aggressive, but I think I'll still enjoy my Monday off. Along with my Camping Essentials:

soft flannel shirts out of mk's closet

American cold ones

My cold weather staple - LL Bean Maine Hunting Boots

a Stanely thermos to keep coffee warm forever

the only blanket, a Pendleton blanket

desert boots for heading into town to antique shop

my fireside friend, the brown stuff

Have a relaxing Columbus Day Weekend!! And welcome home, MK.
5 days apart is 5 days too long.

stud finder

Sometimes I feel bad for commuters who bury themselves in a Kindle or, even worse, Angry Birds. Not because I care that they're further disassociating themselves from members of society, but because they're missing out on all the babes. NY is notoriously packed with major babes of both sexes.

I like to use my commute time wisely; to stare at good looking people.

That's why I did not hate it when I read HotGuysOnTheTrain, a blog dedicated to babespotting on the NY mass transit system.

Hello! Bonjour! Guttentag! Do you know that you're not ugly?

btdubs, all the single ladies, get yourself a pillow and camp out on the M train!

I didn't even know we had an M train, but all the male models do.
